Hi there,

We are excited for your Solo at SXSW EDU 2024. Please read ALL of the information in this email to help you prepare or to help you prepare your speaker for a successful session. If your speaker have any accessibility needs during SXSW EDU, let us know as soon as possible.

PRESENTATION SUPPORT

Format Details
Solos are short, focused presentations delivered by a solo speaker.

Solo presentations should not exceed more than 30 minutes including an optional 10 minute audience Q&A.

Room Set
The room set will consist of theater seating.

Stage Set
The stage set will consist of one tall cocktail table for a computer. Please do not rearrange furniture on stage.

Tech & A/V Support
There will be one projector and screen provided along with one PC computer with hardline internet and audio cable. If connecting your personal laptop to the projector, please bring the appropriate adapter. One wireless microphone will be available.

Audio Capture
Your session will be audio recorded and posted in the SXSW EDU Schedule.

Green Room
Check the SPG for your specific Green Room assignment. All speakers need to arrive at their designated Green Room at least one hour prior to their session's start time. A volunteer will escort them to their session room 15-20 minutes before the start of their session.

Speakers must arrive at their Green Room wearing their SXSW EDU Badge. Badge pickup will be held in Exhibit Hall 1, located in the southwest corner of the Austin Convention Center at 500 E. Cesar Chavez Street.

Tips & Advice
You are responsible for ensuring this session runs smoothly. We will not require you to submit presentation materials ahead of time, but trust that you will bring them with you for upload onsite. There will be a volunteer staff member to assist with A/V if needed.

Be sure to concentrate on the content and steer clear of coming across as advertorial or self-promotional. In other words, this is not an opportunity to promote your personal brand or company. Attendees participate in sessions to learn about the "how" and the "why" rather than the "who" and "what." Handouts, giveaways, and other promotional content are NOT permitted.

Bookmark this dashboard for all of your session management needs leading up to March.

Session Production Guide (SPG)
As the session organizer, you have access to the SPG to view your session's schedule and Green Room information. Note that all deadlines have passed to make changes, but we encourage you to add a session image and Twitter hashtag to increase the promotability of your session.

EDU Social
Remind your speaker to complete their EDU Social profiles by adding their photo and a short bio. This information will populate as part of the speaker listing in the schedule and mobile app, and make for a clean and complete representation of your session.

SXSW EDU does not provide press or attendee lists but does encourage all registrants to search for and connect with one another. Use EDU Social or message them directly through the mobile app.

Speakers can also make hotel reservations via EDU Social once they have signed their Presfenter Release and received their registration for the event. To gain access to all of EDU Social's features, the speaker will need to link their credential to their account.

Social Media & Marketing Toolkit
Speakers are encouraged to celebrate their participation at SXSW EDU. Branded images and sample captions are provided for official presenters to use on social media. Visit the toolkit to learn more and be sure to utilize our official hashtag #SXSWEDU.

Thank you for all of your hard work throughout this planning season to prepare your speaker and session materials for the event. We have enjoyed celebrating your content and look forward to hosting your powerful conversation at SXSW EDU 2024!

Please continue to refer to the Speaker FAQ as questions arise and feel free to reach out if you're unable to find the necessary information there.

We are looking forward to seeing you in March!

Thank you,
SXSW EDU Programming Team
